NYC EMDR & TRAUMA THERAPY

I have been practicing EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for 4 years and I use it or some form of it in most of the sessions with individual clients. It has become an overwhelming view of many clinicians that all pain is trauma based, be it catastrophic traumas or as we call "big T" traumas or more ordinary life "little t" traumas. EMDR is a form of therapy which enables people to heal from distressing symptoms and neutralize triggers caused by disturbing experiences or traumatic events. EMDR works much faster then traditional therapies and has long lasting effects because new neuro pathways in the brain are created by the reprocessing and desensitization of traumatic material.

Through EMDR the mind and nervous system can heal from pain much as body recovers from surgery.

EMDR is an information processing therapy, which is conducted using an 8 phase protocol.
